Impressions:
No special preparation is required to join this tour. The itinerary is designed to be comfortable and accessible for travellers of different ages and fitness levels, with a balanced pace throughout the journey.

5-Day Armenia Tour: What to Expect

Arrival at Zvartnots International Airport, where you will be met and transferred privately to your hotel.

Explore Yerevan, one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities. Walk through the city centre, visiting Republic Square, Northern Avenue and the Cascade complex, with panoramic views over the capital.

In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner featuring a tasting menu of five to six Armenian specialities, such as tolma, spas soup, local cheeses, basturma or sujukh, seasonal vegetables and gata or another traditional dessert. The dinner also includes a short introduction to Armenian wines.

Yerevan | First Taste of Armenia
Day 1
After breakfast, begin a gastronomic journey through Yerevan.

Start at GUM Market, where you can discover Armenian dried fruits, spices, herbs, local cheeses, basturma, sujukh and seasonal fruits, with several small tasting stops along the way.

Continue with a lavash-baking master class. Learn how to roll out the dough and bake traditional Armenian flatbread in a tonir, followed by a traditional lunch.

In the afternoon, visit the Ararat Brandy Factory for a guided tour and tasting, discovering the history and production of Armenian brandy.

The evening is free at leisure, with an optional gastronomic dinner.

Day 2
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and travel to Khor Virap, known for its close views of Mount Ararat.

Continue to Areni in the Vayots Dzor region, the heart of Armenia’s winemaking tradition. Visit a local winery for a guided tour of the production facilities, followed by a tasting of four to five wines. Learn about indigenous Armenian grape varieties, particularly Areni Noir, and enjoy the wines paired with Armenian cheeses and other local products.
Visit Areni-1 Cave, an archaeological site that reveals the ancient history of winemaking in the region.

Continue to Noravank Monastery, set among the red cliffs of a narrow canyon.
Finish the day with lunch or an early dinner at a local restaurant or winery, featuring regional dishes.

Day 3
After breakfast, check out and travel through Armenia’s mountain landscapes.

Stop at Selim Caravanserai, once an important resting point on the medieval Silk Road.

The main culinary experience of the day is a visit to a local cheese farm. Learn about the production process and taste five to six varieties of Armenian cheese, paired with wine, homemade bread, seasonal preserves, honey and local herbs. A light country-style lunch is also included.

Continue via Lake Sevan to Dilijan. In the evening, walk through Old Dilijan and enjoy dinner featuring the cuisine of northern Armenia.

Vayots Dzor, Selim, Cheese Farm & Dilijan | From Wine to Cheese
Day 4
After breakfast, spend some time exploring Dilijan before travelling to Fioletovo, home to Armenia’s Molokan community.

Visit a local Molokan family and discover their culinary traditions over tea from a samovar, homemade pastries, preserves and pickles. Learn about the community’s way of life, cuisine and cultural heritage.

Continue to Lake Sevan for a traditional fish lunch featuring trout or whitefish, accompanied by local appetisers, vegetables and bread.

Return to Yerevan. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner featuring a modern interpretation of Armenian cuisine. A short live duduk performance provides a memorable conclusion to the journey.

After breakfast, enjoy free time depending on your flight schedule.
